Low Voltage Directive (LVD)

The Low Voltage Directive states that:

  • Only electrical equipment which does not jeopardise the safety of people, domestic animals and property shall be placed onto the market. Low Voltage Directive LVD Directive
  • Equipment operating at a voltage between 50v and 1000v AC and 75v & 1500v DC should comply.

LVD Directive & Laidler Associates

Laidler Associates can offer comprehensive inspections and on site testing to the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

As part of the service we can give advice and assistance on one or all of the following:-

  • Risk Assessment.
  • Cross reference with the requirements of the Essential Protection Requirements.
  • Cross reference with EN Standards.
  • Compilation of the Technical Construction File.
  • Raising of the Declaration of Conformity
  • Testing Methods and Procedures.

Laidler Associates will provide the following:-

  • Comprehensive Risk Analysis as required by EN 14121-1 and EN 954-1 / EN ISO 13849-1 / EN 62061.
  • To do list.
  • A Technical Construction File.
  • Audit report for Low Voltage compliance.
  • A Declaration of Conformity template.
  • Where required Laidler Associates can also act as the Authorised Representative and sign the Declaration of Conformity.

    If you are outside the EEC Laidler Associates can also hold your technical file for production to the relevant authorities as and when required.
