Laidler Certification is a Notified Body appointed by the DTI and recognized by the European Commission (number 0870). One of only a small number of Notified Bodies in the UK, it provides the recognition and credibility of Laidler Associates.

Scope

There are two main areas in which Laidler Certification can provide assistance: Annexed Machinery for the European Machinery Directive and the Semiconductor Industry.

Machinery Directive

All machines sold in the European Economic Area (EEA) from January 1st 1995, must comply with the Machinery Directive and be safe. There are few exclusions to the Directive making this one of the most significant of all the New Approach Directives. Machinery that is listed in Annex IV of the Directive has to be approved by a Notified Body. Laidler Certification is a Notified Body for the Machinery Directive, Laidler Certification can complete the conformity assessment procedure including:

• EC Type Examination
• Assessment and storage of Technical Files
• Third Party Attestation
• Independent, Third Party audits on all machinery.

Semiconductor Industry

The Semi Standards are global in the industry and are recognised, especially in the USA as a prime declaration of the safety of the equipment. To ensure confidence it is advisable for only totally independent Third Parties to carry out appraisals of equipment.

SEMI Certification is the gateway to worldwide acceptance of the safety of your semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Laidler Certification meets the strict S7 guidelines, which are laid down as to both the company and the inspecting engineers' qualifications and experience and can carry out Third Party assessments to SEMI S2, S10 and S14 standards.
