EMC Directive

Laidler Associates can offer comprehensive on site EMC testing against the requirements of the Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive.

As part of the service we can give advice and assistance on one or all of the following:-

• Recommendations to help meet the requirements of the EMC Directive.
• Test reports for EMC Compliance in accordance with relevant standards;

EMC Testing will be expected to include (but not limited to) the following:-

• Radiated emissions
  • Non contact measurement using an active antenna.
• Conducted emissions
  • Measurement using a Line Impedance Stabilisation Network or voltage probes dependant on the clients request and the current capacity of the machine.
• Fast Transients
  • A low energy fast transient burst.
• Electrostatic discharge to the equipment at normal operator positions.
• Radiated immunity
  • The equipment under test will be subjected to a radio frequency noise source at a specific spot frequency.
  • RF energy will be induced into cables using a current clamp.
• Functional tests
  • The machine is run to ensure no ill effects.
