EMC Directive
Laidler Associates can offer comprehensive on site EMC testing against the requirements of the Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive.
As part of the service we can give advice and assistance on one or all of the following:-
- Recommendations to help meet the requirements of the EMC Directive.
- Test reports for EMC Compliance in accordance with relevant standards;
EMC Testing will be expected to include (but not limited to) the following:-
- Radiated emissions
- Non contact measurement using an active antenna.
- Conducted emissions
- Measurement using a Line Impedance Stabilisation Network or voltage probes dependant on the clients request and the current capacity of the machine.
- Fast Transients
- A low energy fast transient burst.
- Electrostatic discharge to the equipment at normal operator positions.
- Radiated immunity
- The equipment under test will be subjected to a radio frequency noise source at a specific spot frequency.
- RF energy will be induced into cables using a current clamp.
- Functional tests
- The machine is run to ensure no ill effects.
